About Glimmers
As Career Advisors at UCLA Anderson School of Management, we were seeing similar trends in our office during one-on-one coaching sessions. It was no longer just about resumes, cover letters, and interviewing. Universal themes began to emerge: how to cultivate self-confidence, dealing with imposter syndrome, feeling enough, comparison, feeling lost or stuck, staying accountable, overall digital well-being, and more. All normal and relatable.
We began centering conversations around these themes in one-on-one meetings, and then decided to take it a step further. In 2023, we created and launched a life coaching program, Alive, to help Anderson MBA students slow down, reflect, and connect more meaningfully with each other.
During our interactions with students, we noticed something. There were certain mantras, words of wisdom, and tidbits we would share over and over based on our years of coaching experience. And our students loved them!
If we could impact our students with these quick insights, why not share them with others? Thus, Glimmers was created.
Why Glimmers?
A "glimmer" is a small, positive experience that brings feelings of calm, safety, and well-being, acting as the opposite of a trigger. Glimmers are subtle moments of joy, appreciation, or peace that can be found in everyday life.
